About the mission

We are looking for a versatile BI Analyst-Developer to join our Business Intelligence team. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical development, analysis, and modeling within a Microsoft-based environment, and will be responsible for developing data warehouses and ensuring data quality across various systems.

You will be deployed as a versatile BI expert in our 6-member Business Intelligence (BI) team. You can perform both technical development work (in a Microsoft-based environment) as well as analysis and modeling work. Candidates must have concrete experience in at least two of these three areas and be willing to familiarize themselves with all three.

Key Responsibilities

As a BI Developer, you will develop data warehouses in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
You have experience with ETL tools.
You have a thorough knowledge of SSIS and also experience with SSAS (measures, hierarchies, slowly changing dimensions…).
Ideally, you have a basic knowledge of C# development in SSIS.
Knowledge of Power BI is a big plus.

As an information analyst, you will be involved in establishing connections between data streams from different systems, mapping and analyzing this data (regarding its structure and quality), and translating it into decision-supporting information and data (intelligence).
In practice, the data scope under your authority usually limits itself to commonly used data across services, i.e., master data and analytical data.
You will also collaborate with functional analysts from development teams (who are responsible for analyzing and modeling transactional databases).

As a data modeler, you will maintain and develop both the enterprise data model and data models for (sets of) data marts.
You have experience in developing (linked) star schemas.

Skills & Experience

Demonstrable experience with C# .NET in the context of SSIS
Demonstrable experience with data warehouse modeling
Demonstrable experience with the synchronization of master data with (authentic) sources
Demonstrable experience with introducing and maintaining general standards regarding data structures (e.g., OSLO standards)
Demonstrable experience with establishing reporting-related data models (star schemas, logical cube model)
Demonstrable experience with project-oriented work and data warehouse modeling or demonstrable training in data warehouse modeling
Demonstrable experience with SQL
Demonstrable experience with SQL Server Analysis Services
Demonstrable experience with SQL Server Integration Services
Demonstrable experience with SQL Server Reporting Services
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in planning, designing, and building a data warehouse application using tools like Cognos or Datastage.

Languages

Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR level C2.

What you'll do

  • Als BI Developer ontwikkel je datawarehouses in een Microsoft SQL Server-omgeving.
  • Je hebt ervaring met ETL tools.
  • Je hebt een grondige kennis van SSIS en je hebt ook ervaring met SSAS (measures, hierarchies, slowly changing dimensions…).
  • Je hebt idealiter een basiskennis van C# ontwikkeling in SSIS.
  • Kennis van Power BI is een grote plus.
  • Als informatie analist houd je je bezig met het leggen van verbanden tussen datastromen afkomstig uit verschillende systemen, met het in kaart brengen en analyseren van deze data (m.b.t. de structuur en de kwaliteit ervan), en met het vertalen ervan naar beslissingsondersteunende informatie en data (intelligence).
  • In praktijk beperkt de data-scope onder jouw bevoegdheid zich meestal tot, over de diensten heen, gemeenschappelijk gebruikte data d.w.z.. masterdata en analytische data.
  • Je werkt ook samen met functionele analisten van ontwikkelteams (die zorgen voor analyse en modellering van de transactionele databanken).
  • Als data modeller onderhoudt en ontwikkel je zowel het enterprise data model als datamodellen voor (sets van) data marts.
  • Je hebt daarbij ervaring met het uitwerken van (gelinkte) sterschema’s.

  • Aantoonbare ervaring met projectgericht werken en data warehouse modellering of een aantoonbare opleiding in datawarehouse modellering
  • Aantoonbare ervaring met SQL
  • Aantoonbare ervaring met SQL Server Analysis Services
  • Aantoonbare ervaring met SQL Server Integration Services
  • Aantoonbare ervaring met SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Aantoonbare kennis en ervaring met het plannen, ontwerpen en bouwen van een data warehouse toepassing gebruik makend van tools zoals Cognos of Datastage.
