Senior Solution Designer / Infrastructure Architect
We are looking for an experienced Senior Solution Designer / Infrastructure Architect for a long-term assignment in the energy sector.
In this role, you will bridge business needs, architecture, and technical implementation. You will analyze both functional and non-functional requirements and translate them into future-oriented infrastructure and platform solutions. You will work closely with business analysts, enterprise architects, project teams, and operational IT teams to develop robust and scalable solutions.
Location: 1 day per month in Ghent combined with Brussels and Hasselt, but mostly remote.
Regular travel to various locations in Flanders is expected.
Hybrid working environment.
Start as soon as possible.
This assignment is particularly interesting for architects with a strong infrastructure background who have experience with critical platforms such as Oracle Exadata, SAP HANA, and enterprise Linux and Microsoft Azure environments, and who wish to take on a key role in complex transformation and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into concrete solution designs.
Create technical designs for complex enterprise environments.
Develop infrastructure architectures around servers, networks, data centers, databases, storage, and security.
Assist in drafting Project Initiation Documents (PID) within a Prince2 context.
Guide projects from design phase to implementation and migration.
Act as the technical point of contact for projects towards internal customers, suppliers, and IT teams.
Monitor architectural standards, security requirements, and operational service delivery.
Identify optimizations and improvement initiatives within existing IT services.
Report on projects and contribute to the management of the project portfolio.
Desired Profile
Must-have
At least 8 years of experience in ICT Solution Architecture.
At least 5 years of experience as an Infrastructure Architect in complex enterprise environments.
Proven experience with Oracle Exadata.
Strong experience with SAP HANA infrastructure design.
In-depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Experience with both Linux and Windows platforms.
Knowledge of TOGAF and architectural methodologies.
Extensive experience with enterprise infrastructures in organizations with more than 5,000 users.
Strong all-round knowledge of data center, server, network, storage, and security architecture.
AZ-900 (Microsoft Azure Fundamentals) certification.
Nice-to-have
VMware experience.
Experience in the Belgian energy sector.
Knowledge of Archimate, UML, Sparx EA, or other architecture and modeling techniques.
