Overview
The GIS consultant is responsible for the integration of GIS functionality into various applications. He/she supports the visualization of geodata through digital maps and ensures the necessary geo (web) services. The GIS consultant determines which data/layers are needed and how they should be structured to meet the needs of internal and external users. Conducting or overseeing a business analysis for the implementation and integration of new GIS needs. Experience/knowledge in designing geodatabases is a must. Experience/knowledge in performing spatial analyses in GIS is a must. Experience/knowledge in GIS Solution Architecture is an advantage, meaning translating functional requirements into a technical implementation within the domain of GIS software. Experience/knowledge of technical components such as ArcGIS Enterprise, SQL Server, ArcGIS Pro, GeoServer, QGIS, PostGIS is an advantage. Additionally, we also work with FME, VertiGIS, and Python (ArcPy).Key Responsibilities

Skills & Experience
Demonstrable experience in geocoding, vector and raster graphics formats, rescaling and manipulating data for various purposes, writing queries for the relevant DB environment.
Demonstrable experience in the development of GIS systems (3 years, Mid).
Demonstrable experience with ESRI Enterprise Software: ArcGIS Desktop, Server, Online (3 years, Mid).
Demonstrable experience with geodatabases in SQL server (3 years, Mid).
Demonstrable experience in setting up data for ESRI applications (3 years, Mid).
Demonstrable experience in programming tasks, able to code, test, and debug efficiently.
Demonstrable experience with agile/scrum methodology (3 years, Mid).
Demonstrable experience using APIs and services from Digitaal Vlaanderen (3 years, Mid).
Demonstrable experience in setting up a GIS environment in the cloud (AWS, Azure, ...) (3 years, Mid).
Demonstrable experience in GIS Solution Architecture (3 years, Mid).
Demonstrable experience with geoprocessing tools (3 years, Mid).
Demonstrable experience in cloud architecture and serverless databases and applications (3 years, Mid).
Demonstrable knowledge and experience with VertiGIS.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Agile development methodology.
Demonstrable knowledge of GIS systems through certification.
Demonstrable knowledge of ITIL.
Languages
Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR level C2.
Additional Info
Working hours: Day.
Estimated number of hours per person: 928.
Employment percentage: 80.
Remote work possible: Yes.
Expected presence of 1 day per week at the office in Brussels (Herman Teirlinckgebouw).
Work regime: 100% = 5/5.
Number of ordered days is decisive, start and end dates are indicative and can be adjusted if necessary.
Performances are not entered by the supplier but imported by the client after registration in JIRA.
Performances must be submitted for approval in JIRA by the last day of the month.
The supplier is expected to monitor the balance and report one month before the expected depletion of the number of days.
Overrun performances are not allowed and are at the supplier's risk.
What you'll do
- Integratie van GIS functionaliteit in diverse toepassingen.
- Ondersteunen van de visualisatie van geodata via digitale kaarten.
- Bepalen welke data/datalagen nodig zijn en hoe deze gestructureerd moeten worden.
- Uitvoeren van business analyses voor implementatie en integratie van nieuwe GIS-noden.
What we're looking for
- Aantoonbare ervaring in geocodering, vector en raster graphics formaten, herschalen en manipuleren van data voor verschillende doeleinden, schrijven van queries voor de betrokken DB omgeving.
- Aantoonbare ervaring met de ontwikkeling van GIS systemen (3 jaar, Medior).

- Aantoonbare ervaring met geodatabanken in SQL server (3 jaar, Medior).
- Aantoonbare ervaring met het opzetten van data voor ESRI toepassingen (3 jaar, Medior).
- Aantoonbare ervaring in programmatieopdrachten zeer vlot kunnen uitvoeren: coderen, testen en debuggen.
- Aantoonbare ervaring met agile/scrum werking (3 jaar, Medior).
- Aantoonbare ervaring met het gebruik van API's en services van Digitaal Vlaanderen (3 jaar, Medior).
- Aantoonbare ervaring met opzet van een GIS omgeving in de cloud (AWS, Azure, ...) (3 jaar, Medior).
