We are looking for a Senior Developer specialized in Oracle/APEX to join our Geotechnics department. The role involves developing and optimizing business-supporting applications under the GEONET framework, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, and contributing to the automation of processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Oracle technologies and a strong background in programming.

Overview

Within the Geotechnics department, several business-supporting applications have been built in APEX. These applications are bundled under the name GEONET. There are GEONET applications for Warehouse Management, Measurement Equipment Management, generating KPI reports, generating and sending Boring Reports, Ticketing system, Wiki, and others. These applications have various data streams with other applications in use within the Geotechnics department, such as Orafin, Documentum DMS, Geocore (a proprietary Java application for task management), Boring tests, and are integrated with the user management of the VO.

The pursuit of automation and optimization in these processes, as well as the standard requirements according to ISO17025 and ISO9001, lead to expansions in functionality of these existing applications, but also in the development of additional applications under GEONET, ensuring centralized management remains. Continuity must also be ensured regarding the business-supporting applications. Documentation related to analysis and manuals must also be developed.

In the context of this project, further development is ongoing for the applications for KPI reporting, for one of the applications for Direct input of tests and measurements on site (currently Boring tests), and for the Department Library. During the monthly meeting, it is determined which components have been sufficiently analyzed to be included in the development trajectory. For this assignment, the standard guidelines, templates, and templates in use within the Geotechnics department must also be used.

Key Responsibilities

•Proven experience in the development of Oracle/APEX applications

•Proven experience with Oracle PL/SQL

•Proven knowledge and experience with AOP (Apex Office Print)

•Proven training in programming languages and environments such as SQL, PL/SQL, …

•Affinity with Geotechnical matters and supporting business processes and flows

•Proven experience in making technical analyses

•Proven experience in the setup, management, and maintenance of the systems in question.

•Proven experience in programming tasks, able to execute: coding, testing, and debugging smoothly.

•Proven experience with databases (SQL, Oracle)

•Proven knowledge and experience of Agile development methodology.

Skills & Experience

•Higher education (Master's or Bachelor's) with a technical/engineering background or equivalent through experience with ICT technology for which expertise is requested

•Minimum 10 years of experience for the technology in question or a similar technology

•Strong communication and analytical skills.

•Experience with web services (REST/SOAP) in json/xml.

•Language requirement: Native speaker at European CEFR level C2.
