ABOUT THE PROCESS
All communication about this process runs exclusively through the Connecting Expertise platform, or by email when we contact you first. Phone calls will not be taken. Direct email applications that do not come with a Connecting Expertise application will not be considered either.ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
We are the Belgian Extended Producer Responsibility organisation for household packaging. New EU regulation will significantly expand our role and the number of members we serve, and our IT landscape is being modernised and professionalised to match that ambition. It is a busy, fast-moving environment with an ambitious and positive team.THE ROLE
We are looking for a hands-on data architect to take ownership of the architecture of our data platform, currently built on Azure and Power BI, with a move to Microsoft Fabric on the horizon. Your first mission is to put the current setup under the microscope: analyse the architecture, identify weaknesses, and drive improvements in stability and performance.Beyond stabilisation, you will design how the platform absorbs a substantial increase in load and data volumes in the coming years; that architectural insight is the most relevant part of this role. You will also support the migration to Microsoft Fabric, so practical, hands-on Fabric knowledge is important. The platform is currently run by an external partner; you will be central to internalising that knowledge, including a structured handover and coaching period.
This is a hands-on role: you stay close to the technology and can independently make adjustments and corrections to the platform. It is explicitly not a data engineering role; you will not be responsible for all day-to-day changes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design the target architecture for substantial load and data growth
Support and co-drive the migration to Microsoft Fabric
Lead the knowledge transfer from the external partner and coach internal staff
Make hands-on corrections to the platform where needed
Contribute to data governance and master data management practices, in close collaboration with the architecture team and the CRM track lead.
