ABOUT THE POSITION

The position is responsible for providing multidisciplinary technical support to the department by acting as a knowledge bearer, as well as the associated administration with the aim of contributing to the efficient operation of the department.

Act as a knowledge bearer within the organization and provide technical advice to internal and external parties to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
Keep existing knowledge up to date and secure undocumented knowledge.
Draft and maintain technical specifications.
Form a tandem with the manager and team leaders.
Identify improvement opportunities, needs, and/or requirements and develop scenarios to optimize the operation of the department.
Question the established standards.
Consult with the various stakeholders.
Follow up on projects for optimization as a project leader or team member.
Implement adjustments to existing installations based on work within the department, whether in the form of projects, to ensure optimal operation and avoid potential issues.
Coordinate work on installations/buildings (e.g., ventilation, confinement, etc.).
Develop ideas arising from discussions with team leaders and operators.
Check the quality of the work performed.
Document processes and installations to secure knowledge and ensure sustainable and safe operations.
Create and maintain safety reports.
Draft internal documents (e.g., permit applications, IPAs, MOCs, action plans, etc.).
Prepare and check instructions, files, and other administrative documents.
Monitor and report on the progress of the department's operations to achieve timely completion and keep stakeholders informed of developments.
Report the progress of work to the department hierarchy and relevant authorities (e.g., Bel V, NIRAS, etc.).
Achieve and monitor KPIs.
Provide input for the planning of operations.
Identify, analyze, and address problems and seek solutions to resolve issues or prevent them in the future.
Frame the problem and map out possible solutions.
Collaborate with support services.
Monitor progress.

PROFILE

Strong affinity with chemical processes (e.g., separation processes).
Technical and mechanical insight (to bridge the gap between different stakeholders).
Experience in process development, preferably in an R&D environment, is a strong asset.
Knowledge of working with remote-controlled systems and manipulators in a hotcell environment is a strong asset.
