We are looking for a Data Scientist Expert to support operational and strategic decision-making within our organization. The role involves developing analytical models, structuring data flows, and collaborating with data engineers to enhance our data architecture.

Within the Intelligence & Innovation department of the local police zone, we are building a robust and future-oriented data operation to support both operational and strategic decision-making.

Overview

The Data Excellence & Data Architects team plays a central role in structuring, unlocking, and valorizing data. In this context, we are looking for a Data Scientist Expert who not only develops analytical models but also takes an active role in shaping the underlying data architecture and data flows.

Key Responsibilities

•Analyzing and structuring complex datasets and data flows within the organization

•Developing predictive and optimization models to support operational and strategic use cases

•Designing and implementing data pipelines and data models in collaboration with data engineers and architects

•Contributing to the development of a scalable data platform (cloud/hybrid)

•Translating business needs into data-driven solutions and analytical use cases (including AI/GenAI)

•Supporting the organization in increasing data maturity and data-driven work

•Communicating insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Skills & Experience

•Proven experience in optimizing/tuning databases and queries

•Proven experience in analyzing data flows

•Proven experience in reporting

•Proven experience with databases (SQL, Oracle)

•Proven experience with scripting (Shell, Perl, Python)

Languages

•Language requirement: Fluent in Dutch at European CEFR level C2.

Additional Info

•Proven knowledge and experience with AI/GenAI

•Proven knowledge and experience with Azure and Databricks

•Proven knowledge and experience with machine learning and/or statistical models in production environments

•Proven knowledge and experience with Python and SQL

•Proven knowledge and experience in translating business questions into concrete data solutions (end-to-end)
