We are looking for a senior data & cloud architect to strengthen our data office. The role involves managing data architecture, leading projects, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data management, AI, and Azure Cloud.

Overview

We are looking to strengthen our data office with a senior data & cloud architect. The position reports directly to the CDO and will encompass a range of data tracks within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

•Data architecture

•Management of tech roadmap and framework for data storage, integration, and internal and external data flows (both on-prem and cloud)

•Data architecture and guidelines regarding Java and Cobol applications for data storage and organization, as well as strategy determination in the transition from Cobol to Java

•Designing data architectures and determining guidelines for data mining and statistics domains

•Advisor for PowerData tooling (dbt, Python, data integration)

•Lead Python Centre of Excellence and Python quality reporting

•Lead modern Data Platform project

•Design & Implementation

•Project Management/Product Owner

•Knowledge sharing with and from other federal agencies

•Ensuring compliance according to the IVC deliberation IVC/KSZG/24/114

Additional Responsibilities

•Point of contact regarding IVC deliberation IVC/KSZG/24/114 internally in terms of data

•Advice for Microsoft Copilot concerning security & data

•Close collaboration with the enterprise architect to align data architecture and enterprise architecture

•Advisor for Secrets Management

•Advisor for IAM

•Board member of the internal Cloud Center of Excellence

•Participation in Federal Taskforce for Public Cloud

Skills & Experience

A demonstrable experience of at least 6 years is required in data management, AI, and Azure Cloud. For the position, demonstrable experience of at least 3 years in team leadership is also expected, along with demonstrable and recent experience in project management. Additionally, demonstrable experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines is required.

For the position, demonstrable and recent experience in designing and implementing data cloud architectures, as well as the experience to operationally support these, is required.

Demonstrable experience is required in designing cloud data architectures as well as implementation experience in line with IVC deliberation IVC/KSZG/24/114.

We expect certification in Azure Cloud as well as certification in data engineering for the position.
