The Flemish Government aims to ensure that the Flemish Region is asbestos-safe by 2040. A first step in this is mapping the presence of asbestos. The inventory takes place in two steps. From 2021, an asbestos certificate must be drawn up for all buildings built before 2001 during property transfer. From 2032, a certificate will be available for every building built before 2001. OVAM wants to develop a web application in which all asbestos certificates are collected and made available.
