Overview

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer for the AI & Innovation team within the Police Zone Antwerp. The team develops innovative AI applications that support a wide user group within the Police Zone Antwerp (analysts, investigators, intervention teams, etc.). The solutions primarily utilize locally hosted AI models and are situated within:
Computer Vision (detection and scenario analysis in camera images – live and recordings)
Natural Language Processing (LLM-based applications)
Speech-to-text
Analysis and searching of large amounts of text and image material
Specialized chatbots
Some applications are integrated within the standard Focus platform (with accompanying technological restrictions), while others are developed as stand-alone applications.

Key Responsibilities

The consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining full stack applications that utilize already developed AI components. The emphasis is on:
Integration of AI models into high-performance applications
Development of scalable back-end services
Development of user-friendly front-end applications
Testing, debugging, and optimizing existing solutions
Working within a complex and secure environment
The candidate works autonomously but within a very agile team with a pronounced “get-it-done” mentality.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience in programming tasks; very proficient in coding, testing, and debugging.
Proven knowledge and experience with React.
Proven experience in the development of the based applications.
Proven knowledge and experience with CSS.
Proven knowledge and experience with Docker.
Proven knowledge and experience with NodeJs.
Proven knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL.
Proven knowledge and experience with Python.
Proven experience in leading a development team and coaching developers.
Proven experience with the use of locally hosted LLMs via vllm.
Proven experience with training and fine-tuning (composing and curating datasets + training/fine-tuning procedures).
Proven experience with TypeScript/Tailwind for applications developed stand-alone outside the Focus platform.
Proven knowledge and experience with NVIDIA Deepstream.
Proven knowledge and experience with vision models such as YOLO, DETR, ResNet, CLIP, DINO, SAM, InternVL.
Proven knowledge and experience of Agile development methodology, where a leading role can be taken.
