We are looking for a Senior Linux / Open Systems Engineer with expertise in Containers and DevSecOps for a project with the Flemish Government. The role involves working on Linux/Unix and container-based projects, delivering quality solutions, and collaborating with clients and colleagues in a hybrid work environment.

For our framework contract with the Flemish Government, we are looking for a Senior Linux / Open Systems Engineer (Containers & DevSecOps).

Duration: 12 months +
Full-time assignment
1 to 2 days onsite in Brussels, near Brussels North station
Language skills: Dutch and English

Your Role

As a Senior Linux / Open Systems Engineer, you will work on container and Open Systems projects for clients. You combine in-depth technical expertise with a strong customer focus and take on an inspiring role within the team.

You:

•work on Linux/Unix and container-based projects for clients

•deliver quality solutions that meet the client's needs

•communicate smoothly with clients and build sustainable relationships

•inspire colleagues and involve them in your technical approach

•actively share your knowledge through documentation, presentations, and on-the-job guidance

•continuously deepen your technical knowledge within the world of Open Systems and DevSecOps

Your Responsibilities

•Implement, configure, and maintain:

o Red Hat Enterprise Linux
o Container platforms such as OpenShift and Kubernetes
o Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization

•Apply DevSecOps principles and CNCF tooling:

o Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform, …

•Provide technical support throughout the entire lifecycle (installation, configuration, upgrades)

•Work independently within projects, but also collaborate smoothly in a team

•Proactively think about optimizations and improvements

Your Profile

•6 to 10 years of relevant experience as a System Engineer in an Open Systems environment

•Demonstrable expertise in:

o Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
o Containers (OpenShift, Kubernetes)
o DevSecOps & CNCF tooling

•Good technical knowledge of installation, configuration, and maintenance of DevSecOps tools

•Strong communication and analytical skills

•Entrepreneurial mindset: you tackle problems with ownership

•Eager to learn, driven, and enthusiastic, with a passion for both technology and the customer

•Very good knowledge of Dutch and English

•Bachelor's or Master's degree

Work Regime

•Hybrid work: 1 day a week onsite with the client in Brussels (easily accessible by public transport)

•Other days remote
