We are looking for a Solution Engineer – Scrum/Agile Delivery Master with over 10 years of experience to join our team. This role involves designing and implementing IT solutions while working closely with a multidisciplinary team. The position requires strong expertise in Java cloud engineering and agile methodologies.

Description

The General Commissioner for Refugees and Stateless Persons is an independent federal administration. The mission of the CGRA is to provide protection to individuals who risk persecution or serious harm if returned to their country of origin. In accordance with Belgian, European, and international standards, the CGRA examines each request for international protection in an individual, objective, and impartial manner. A modernization program has been launched within the CGRA, translated into the eDossier program. This is a very ambitious program, consisting of several projects, with a very tight schedule. To continue shaping and developing the program, we are looking for strong profiles who wish to engage temporarily (fixed-term contracts, terminable immediately, renewable after positive evaluation) until delivery, scheduled at least until the end of 2028. One of the profiles we are looking for is a Solution Engineer – Scrum/Agile Delivery Master, expert level (+10 years of experience). We are not looking for an agile coach. We are looking for a solution engineer with a Java cloud engineering background and a very strong recent experience as a scrum/agile delivery master. You will join an ongoing initiative, which poses a significant challenge. Below is a description of the tasks and competencies.

•As a Solution Engineer, you contribute to achieving the team's goals. You support the CGRA in delivering quality products to our clients. You collaborate with other engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.

•As a Solution Engineer, you must understand the entire stack & IT design solution, guiding the team in designing and developing secure & robust solutions, deploying applications, and maintaining the application in collaboration with other team members.

•As a scrum master, you leverage your technical expertise and experience to contribute to all sprint events (planning, refinements, retrospectives, demos, daily).

•You continuously develop your own expertise while gathering, updating, and disseminating knowledge about new tools & practices within the team.

•Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex challenges and deliver effective solutions.

Skills & Experience

•Degree in computer science from a recognized European higher education institution is mandatory.

•10 years of hands-on experience in designing/defining and developing APIs.

•10 years of hands-on experience in developing and integrating microservices.

•10 years of hands-on experience in Java SE.

•5 years of hands-on experience in Java SE10+.

•5 years of hands-on experience as a scrum/agile delivery master, possibly combined with the role of Java developer or software architect.

•5 years of hands-on experience with event-driven architecture and systems.

•5 years of hands-on experience in implementing agile frameworks, such as Safe and Less.

•5 years of hands-on experience in software design (cloud, API, microservices, eventing).

•3 years of hands-on experience as a scrum/agile delivery master in cloud-native software projects.

•3 years of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps to manage agile software/solution delivery.

•Ability to propose alternative solutions and make recommendations regarding choices to be made.

•Good listener, flexible attitude, and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Languages

•Due to the nature of the tasks and the clientele (bilingual working environment), a very good (active) knowledge of English is necessary, as well as a very good knowledge of French.
