We are seeking a Medior Surveying & Mapping Technician to conduct regular appraisals for the City of Gent. The role involves delivering appraisal reports within specified timelines and managing various aspects of the appraisal process. This is a part-time, remote position with a duration of 32 months.

About the City of Gent

The City of Gent regularly needs to conduct appraisals of real estate either for divestment or for acquisition for various projects.

Due to the obligation to handle public funds carefully, all real estate transactions must occur at a market-conform price. For this determination, according to the decree Local Governance and accompanying circular, a certified surveyor must be consulted.

About the Assignment

Specifically, the city wishes to find one or more appraisers for regular appraisals.

The regular appraisals are generally a mix of sometimes very simple to somewhat more complex properties. On average, there are about 25 per year. Over the total duration of this assignment, there would be about 60.

This assignment is on-call.

Technical requirements for this assignment are attached as an appendix.

The expectation is that the appraiser can deliver the appraisal report within 20 working days per requested appraisal (unless otherwise agreed between the parties).

The quoted price must be an all-in price, which includes the following elements:

•administration and secretarial work;

•travel, transport, and insurance;

•documentation related to the services;

•various meetings and/or additional study work and/or the development of variants based on changing assumptions;

•answering all questions regarding the content of the appraisal report and modifying the appraisal report;

•delivery of documents or materials inherent to the execution (including the placement of the appraisal reports on the city's SharePoint or providing a light version);

•and all other costs necessary to successfully complete this assignment.
