The ideal candidate should be able to handle stress, work autonomously, and possess strong communication skills.

Description (English)

Context

The National Institute for the Social Security of the Self-Employed (RSVZ) protects the social status of self-employed entrepreneurs - from the establishment of their business to after their retirement - thus contributing to their social and economic well-being.

The IT department is a dynamic environment that responds to technological evolutions. More than 150 people work in this department, and agile methodologies (scrum) are employed. Since RSVZ is a federal institution, stakeholders are either Dutch or French-speaking.

The Application Owner / Ops Engineer is an integral part of a development team. Multidisciplinary collaboration takes place, and each team consists of a scrum master, business analysts, developers, testers, a product owner, and an AO/Ops Engineer.

The AO/Ops Engineer is responsible for managing and ensuring the proper functioning of several business applications within the development team and acts as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) regarding these applications. He/she is in contact with the helpdesk or technical expert regarding structural issues, with both IT and the business, which in turn represent the users, as well as with external parties.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring and reporting on the components that are in production from the team.
Following up on production issues reported by the business.
Collaborating with the team to find the cause and possible solutions for production issues.
Assisting in testing newly developed software to ensure it continues to work stably.
Testing and validating fixes for production issues.
Providing support during releases.
As a team member, the AO/Ops Engineer also contributes to the development of these business applications, working closely with colleagues.
The AO-Ops Engineer is capable of developing or modifying code, creating necessary queries, and performing analyses. He/she also prepares the corresponding documentation, all according to the Agile method.
He/she is responsible (together with the team) for following up on reported incidents, which includes identification, analysis, correction, and testing. Communication with the client is also an important aspect of this.
In the context of ongoing projects, the AO-Ops Engineer acts as an expert. Additionally, he/she ensures the continuity of the applications and is responsible for and involved in the qualitative delivery of the components together with the team.
The AO/Ops Engineer advises IT colleagues and users in the development of new projects in the domains and applications for which the team is responsible.

Behavioral

Ability to handle stress associated with a release.
Taking responsibility within a project and making independent decisions.
Proposing solutions with own initiatives and necessary creativity.
A sense of development, analysis, and synthesis to deliver quality work while respecting deadlines.
Communicative and relational skills. Empathetic and using understanding to better comprehend teammates and business partners.
Customer-oriented.
Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
