We are looking for a Data Governance Consultant to implement and operationalize actions identified in our data governance strategy. The role requires strong collaboration with key stakeholders and a focus on delivering business value through effective data management practices.

Mission Terms

We are looking for a Data Governance Consultant to implement and operationalize the actions identified in the already completed assessment. The mission is full-time, for 5 renewable months, starting no later than early May. The mission requires regular presence in Gosselies, a minimum of 2 days/week, to work closely with key stakeholders. The site is not easily accessible by public transport, so possession of a driver's license and a vehicle is required.

Mission Context

We are entering an execution phase of our data strategy: an assessment of governance practices has been completed. A new organization is being established, with a product-oriented model and decentralized data. The consultant's mission is to transform the assessment and recommendations into concrete realizations, integrating into the new organization and working closely with key stakeholders (business teams, DPO, security, data platform, architects, management) to generate value quickly.

Main Tasks:

•Organization & Roles
•Deploy data governance roles (owners, stewards…) within the organization.
•Clarify responsibilities, interactions, and collaboration modes between various business and IT stakeholders.
•Data Quality
•Collaborate with the data quality team to manage and apply the rules, indicators, and quality processes around priority use cases.
•Define and operationalize - Support teams in continuous improvement.
•Catalog & Glossary
•Structure and enrich the business glossary.
•Participate in establishing a data catalog.
•Map key data: uses, owners, dependencies.
•Compliance & Security
•Integrate GDPR, ISO27001, and security requirements into daily practices.
•Collaborate with the DPO and security on governance, confidentiality, audit, and retention aspects.
•Training & Awareness
•Enhance the data maturity of teams through training, materials, and targeted awareness.
•Promote a common and pragmatic data culture.

Desired Profile

The required technical skills and associated seniority levels are listed in the Connecting Expertise skills section. From a soft skills perspective, the consultant is expected to have:
•Strong ability to work closely with the business and demonstrate business value.
•Pragmatic vision, results-oriented and use case focused.
•Comfort in decentralized and transforming environments.
•Excellent communication and cross-functional facilitation skills.

The position requires administrative rights or access to classified information, qualifying it as high-risk for the information systems. Therefore, in compliance with ISO27001 standards, we are required to verify backgrounds by contacting at least one provided reference for any candidate selected for the mission. If your candidate is selected for an interview, you will be asked to provide contact details for one or more previous managers at the end client (recent experiences) for contact. Providing these references constitutes agreement by the candidate and the mentioned person(s). This data will be deleted after 2.5 years following the end of the collaboration or after a maximum of one and a half years if the recruitment process is unsuccessful.
