Assist in installing and integrating various scientific software packages on the local HPC computing infrastructure.
Perform preparatory configuration and installation work to ensure software is quickly available for end-users, considering dependent scientific libraries and specific hardware of various computing clusters.
Process incoming requests to install specific scientific software in collaboration with the Research and Scientific Computing Support team.
Assess the effort required to centrally install software on the computing infrastructure, including evaluating recommended procedures and identifying missing software dependencies.
Implement support for software installation using the EasyBuild installation tool.
Identify and resolve potential issues that arise during installation using EasyBuild.
Test the resulting software installations for correctness and performance, where reasonable and possible, in consultation with the Research and Scientific Computing Support team.
Follow up on any issues reported by end-users after the central installation of software.
Evaluate whether the software can also be integrated into the European Environment for Scientific Software Installations (EESSI), as determined by the Research and Scientific Computing Support team.
Regularly consult with the Research and Scientific Computing Support team to discuss open requests, issues, and further approaches.
