We are looking for a Junior / Medior Test Engineer to ensure software quality within various domains. The role involves executing tests, collaborating with teams, and contributing to process improvements. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience and be familiar with agile principles.

Overview
Earliest start date: June 2026Duration: 1 year (with possible extension)
Type: Full-time assignment
Location: Brussels + partially remote
Languages: Dutch or French + English (passive knowledge of the other language is a plus)
Budget: 530 Euro per day, excl. VAT
We have until April 15 to submit our candidates.
Our Account Manager will conduct an initial screening via Teams for each presentation.
Key Responsibilities
•Execute functional and non-functional tests within various IT projects.
•Collaborate with business analysts, project leaders, and development teams to analyze requirements and derive test scenarios.
•Actively apply agile principles: iterative work, refinement, collaboration in multidisciplinary teams, and flexibility in changing needs.
•Prepare, maintain, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and generic Gherkin scripts.
•Practical use of test design techniques and coverage forms.
•Document test results, monitor defect tracking, and quality status.
•Use and manage test data.
•Provide explanations and demonstrations about tools like SoapUI, Postman, and Swagger, even to non-technical stakeholders.
•Provide support and coaching to fellow testers and stakeholders.
•Contribute to the continuous improvement of the testing process and formulate proposals for an "ideal testing process".
Skills & Experience
•Experience with test management frameworks and methods: agile testing, structured testing, ISTQB, STBox, TMap.
•Able to correctly apply agile principles: iterative cycles, teamwork, flexibility.
•Familiar with basic principles of application architecture; knowledge of Java and containerization is a plus.
•Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Xray.
•Strong expertise in the entire testing process, both in current application and in defining an ideal process.
•Experience in analyzing and documenting functional and non-functional requirements.
•Practical experience with test design techniques and test coverage.
•Experience writing test cases and Gherkin scripts.
•Proficient use and management of test data.
•Experience with SoapUI, Postman, and Swagger, including explaining to non-technical users.
•Knowledge of a scripting language and/or SQL.
Languages
•Knowledge of the overall structure of AAFISC within the Federal Public Service Finance (or willingness to quickly familiarize oneself).
•Knowledge of Agile Scrum.
•Experience with stakeholder management focusing on constructive collaboration and proactive thinking.
•Able to sufficiently delve into business matters to test quality and understand the impact of changes.
