Job Description – Network Engineer (Medior / Senior)
Location: Antwerp (Singel area)

Context

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer for an important player active in retail with a strongly geographically dispersed network. The organization is in transition to a more proactive and cloud-first IT environment. In this context, the network plays a crucial role in the operational continuity of the business. We are looking for a hands-on engineer who is not only technically strong but can also contribute to structure, standardization, and collaboration with external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Network Management & Operations (run)

•Responsible for stability, availability, and security of the network (WAN, LAN/WLAN)

•Act as L2/L3 escalation point for complex network issues

•Analyze incidents and perform root cause analyses

•Systematically resolve recurring issues

Vendor and Partner Management

•Technical point of contact for telecom and network partners

•Monitor SLAs and ensure service quality

•Coordinate installations, moves, and changes within the network

Standardization & Documentation

•Prepare and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and procedures

•Ensure correct registration of network components in CMDB (e.g., ServiceNow)

•Define and implement standards and best practices

Project Work & Transformation

•Contribute to the implementation of network improvements and innovations

•Assist in modern connectivity solutions (e.g., SD-WAN)

•Take technical lead in smaller projects (from design to rollout)

Profile

•At least 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer in a complex environment

•Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and firewalling (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet)

•Experience with SD-WAN is a strong asset

•Experience in environments with multiple locations (retail, telecom, logistics…)

•Hands-on, analytical, and strong in problem-solving

•Structured way of working with a focus on documentation and standards

Languages

•Dutch and English required

•French is a plus
