We are looking for a mid-level Linux system administrator to join our operations team. The role involves setting up and maintaining systems used by our organization, with a focus on Linux server management. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in an enterprise environment and a strong understanding of ITIL processes.

Hiring a system administrator (mid-level) Linux for the Operations service of the Agriculture and Fisheries Agency.
Key Responsibilities
•Demonstrable experience (3 years) with Linux system administration in an enterprise environment (preferably Suse Linux Enterprise Server)
•Demonstrable experience as a System Administrator (setup, management, and maintenance of systems)
•Demonstrable knowledge and experience, at the system level, of at least one of the specialist systems: Unix/Linux/Windows - Mainframe - Middleware - security - network and communication - systems, generic or specialist
•Demonstrable experience with following up support calls from customers and suppliers, and ITIL processes in general.
•Demonstrable experience with Ansible configuration management in an enterprise environment.
•Demonstrable experience with datacenter operations: planning, execution, and documenting the (de)installation of server, storage, and network equipment and their patching, in own datacenters.
•Demonstrable experience with ICT infrastructure solutions
•Demonstrable experience with Kubernetes platform in an enterprise environment, preferably on-prem
•Demonstrable experience with Linux scripting: bash, python, or perl
•Demonstrable experience with monitoring: elastic or nagios
•Demonstrable experience with networking in an enterprise environment: Cisco ACI, Palo Alto firewalls, or F5 big IP.
•Demonstrable experience with storage in an enterprise environment: NetApp AFF, HPE Alletra 9000, or HPE StoreOnce
•Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the relevant ITIL processes (especially regarding change management).

•Personal competencies: results-oriented project-based work, independent problem-solving ability, teamwork, communication skills, stress resistance.
Languages
•Language requirement: Dutch at European CEFR level C2.

The task of the system administrator (mid-level) Linux is to set up and maintain several systems used by the Agriculture and Fisheries Agency. This includes daily management of existing systems (monitoring backups, resolving incidents, etc.) as well as the design and implementation of major changes, new systems, or the removal of old systems. The standard workplace for this function is the LV office in Brussels, but travel to the LV datacenters located in Aalst, Antwerp, and Ghent should not be a problem. The system administrator (mid-level) Linux will work within the LUNS team of IT operations. This is a team responsible for managing all Linux systems, all network equipment, and all storage equipment of LV. Knowledge and experience with Linux server management is by far the most important for this position, but knowledge, experience, or interest in enterprise network and storage management is also considered a plus.Competitive
